Yeah. Look at the English national team. They don't seem to need spines.

They were diving like Ivorians and got Valon Behrami a red card. He was flailing his arms around and appeared to hit the Chilean behind him in the face. I thought it would have been a harsh yellow.

Chile's stock is falling sharply in my household.

Last time I looked basketball did not involve any armoring of any sort.

                • Though to be fair, basketball players are notorious for not being particularly tough. Not as bad as soccer players, but they definitely have a reputation for acting like they took a bullet to the chest when they get fouled (ie- Paul Pierce) and having injuries that would be silly by NFL standards. Still tougher than soccer players though.

                  • Here's a better version of the goals per match trends chart:

I do think the concerns of a historically low scoring WC have been proven premature by the looks of the second round that concludes today, no doubt helped by Portugal's 7 today.

I suppose you also think medieval knights were pussies because they wore armor to offer some protection from their violent and physically hazardous work. Idiot.

Wow. there's some goals for you North America. Amazing stuff from Portugal.

I wasn't watching. I'm out, unless the U.S. makes the semifinals.

Very true. Basketball is a Canadian sport, which is why it's harder than soccer but significantly less hard than football.
