Yeah, today you can't do anything unless yo have a biliongazilliontrillion stuck up in you arse - its actually pretty sick
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
You are arguing poor kids can do this. Please provide an argument beside "They just really have to want to" as to how this comes about.
"I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow
"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." - Mark Twain

Simple.
Raise some money by either
a) selling crack to other kids
or
b) sucking **** on the street corner.
If a poor kid can't sail around the world, it's because they aren't trying hard enough.
Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch
I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure

Also, as for taking precautions and knowing what she's doing:
Veteran sailors questioned the wisdom of sending a teenager off alone in a small boat, knowing it would be tossed about for 30 or more hours at a time by the giant waves that rake the Southern Hemisphere's oceans this time of year.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
Okay, I'm not mad, but whereTF did this (and Ming's anti-Catholic remark a few posts later) come from? Religion had nothing to do with what I was saying.
No more out of left field than saying:
Armstrong: the race to the moon was one of the most pointless, money-wasting endeavors in human history, a silly little dick-measuring contest with the commies. I've already said as much on here.
If you can't understand all the scientific advances that came out of that "endeavor", then you are simply ignorant.
And since you wanted to discuss money-wasting things, the RCC is fair game. What, it's ok for you to have an opinion that science is a waste of money, but people can't say that religion is a waste of money? Fair game in my book...
I'm thinking about doing it. If I get in trouble Australia will just bail me out.
“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
"Capitalism ho!"

A. Ozzy mentioned Armstrong first, along with several other "pioneers." I evaluated them in turn. It was not out of left field, but a perfectly relevant reply to his remarks.
B. We got jack-**** return on our investment. Name one valuable thing we got from sending people to the moon. Especially a valuable thing we couldn't have gotten just as easily with a drone.
C. You know what else is money-wasting? Pet Rocks from the seventies, Andy Warhol's soup cans, slot machines, commemorative plates purchased from Parade magazine ads, and farm subsidies. I brought none of them up because they were IRRELEVANT.
D. I'm not BK, and I really don't care about the RCC. I am somewhat puzzled by your need to bash them even in threads that have nothing to do with them, however. Hell, I hate the KKK, but I don't keep babbling on about Stormfront.
E. Religion-bashing threads, and threads bashing the RCC in particular, are not exactly hard to come by around here. Nine threads out of ten, BK threadjacks into a discussion of buttsex/morality/buttsex morality, and from there it's just a hop, skip and jump to the usual recriminations about groping priests and coverups. Let's go for some variety.

Okay, I'm not mad, but whereTF did this (and Ming's anti-Catholic remark a few posts later) come from? Religion had nothing to do with what I was saying. I did not argue "Lindy should have been praying in church instead of flying his airplane" or anything. This is totally out of left field.
No but given your occupation it does show that a feat of extraordinary scientific achievement is not on the priority list of any Chruch. "Keep em dumb" is a credo which should not be celebrated too openly...
