1.45 USD? Are you serious? When did it get so low?

Wow where have I been? It hasn't been above 1.60 since January!

Drinks are substantially cheaper than in NYC, with this exchange rate.

NYC is not the cheapest place to drink in the world either though.

I found London quite cheap for my pokets. I mean, if you know where to go, you can spend very few pounds. I was lucky to visit there, guided by one of the locals. :-) You should come in Switzerland... hell, here the only cheap thing you can buy is beer! Everything else costs too much. Try to pay a dinner in a restaurant... XD
The destination doesn't matter. What's important is the journey.

Ok, Switzerland and NYC. If we get a poster from Tokyo we'll have virtually completed the list of "places more expensive than London".

In Switzerland you get to keep most of your pay packet rather than pay income taxes.

Worried about the 50p rate (or is that off the table now?)

London is cheaper in international terms (and so is British pay), due to the exchange rates... not so long ago it was 1.5€ for £ and 2$ for £...

Yeah, when I was over there (4? years ago) it was $2 for each £. Which was great since my three weeks of working in Britain yielded more € for the rest of my trip
