  • What kind of a city is Atlanta?

Crime, polution, cost of living, interesting landmarks, ect.

I'm thinking of visiting the place in a few months. Any polytubbies live there?

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

It's the best city in the South, i.e. the best trailer in the trailer park.

      Atlanta was a city, landlocked,
Hundreds of miles from the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean,
Yet so desperate the city's desire for tourism,
That they moved offshore, becoming an island,
And an even bigger Delta hub,

Until the city over-developed and it started to sink,
Knowing their fate, the quality people ran away,
Ted Turner, Hank Aaron, Jeff Foxworthy, the guy who invented Coca-Cola,
The magician and the other so-called Gods of our legends,
      Though Gods they were,
And also Jane Fonda was there.

The others chose to remain behind,
On their porches with their rifles, and one day evolve into mermaids,
And sing and dance and ring in the new.

If you like endless suburban sprawl, you'll love Atlanta. There are some cool things though... the new Georgia Aquarium's supposedly pretty nice.

Not worth visiting, barely tolerable for living.

It was a legendary city of wonders which supposedly disappeared beneath the waves in a cataclysm,, perhaps as a lesson that even the greatest accomplishments of man are subject to the whims of the gods.

              You're thinking of Atlantis.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Atlanta is your typical urban sprawl disaster

you'd think they'd have a better infrastructure having recently hosted the olympics, but they don't... you can owe that to southern charm (read stupidity)

and, by the way, Southern Hospitality applies to the whole of the south except inland Georgia.

The Aquarium is real nice. I saw it in 2006. The New Coke Cola tour is a block away and the CNN center is a short distance away.

Those are all fun places to visit, but a word of advice; if you want to go out drinking, Midtown is a better place to be. Decatur is always nice (that is where I live), but a little bit further than downtown.
