Your distinction is too fine. Why have an age requirement at all? Plenty of people don't "look their age".

The law is a clumsy but well-intentioned regulation at best and a worthless infringement on personal rights at worst. Probably, it is somewhere in between and there are other requirements besides A-cup for a piece of pornography to be indicted under the new law [I dunno].

Regarding the OP article "what if you made a video while on vacation?!" Email it to yourself. Fact is, searches at borders are permitted and if you don't want something seen when you cross a border then don't bring it with you. Why address the symptom (stupid questions) when the cause is border search policies. Either change the border search policies, or go ahead and cry about the obvious ramifications therein in vain.

Looking at the second bolded part, it seems Australia is adding an additional charge of 'lying to customs' in its fight against child pornography trafficers. I think that is the point of the question... If we catch them we can hit them a little harder.

Not the best way to legislate, but it's hard to have sympathy for child pornographers.
