  • Just looking at old PM's...

Well amid all the threats of banning from Ming and MtG I found some interesting ones. I don't remember what Adam is referring to here but still...

    Adam Smith

    Please don't lose heart

Your type morality is not "insane" as one poster put it. Your type of morality is, by and large, a method of developing self respect in tough part of the world.

The fact that you reached out to this person speaks well of your concern for others.

You are not responsible for their behavior.

    You are responsible for yourself.
    Don't give up on yourself.

    Adam Smith RIP

I also have a bunch of other positive kind words from Jon Miller, DocFeelGood, and Ben Kenobi. I don't want to put anyone on the spot like this but I know Jon and Ben are still around (haven't seen Doc). Just want you guys to know that it was appreciated.

And to those who are too harsh on Ben. He's a really good guy who took his time to talk to me. He might have been trying to convert me to Mennonism () but if you were to read his messages to me, you wouldn't be so harsh on him. He's a genuinely nice guy who wants to help others.

on a lighter note, I had a long back and forth with Giancarlo/Fez who had to have been trying to **** with me...

It's kind of hard to be the second to rip somebody's spinal cord out. Unless the first paid for complicated surgery, and even then you couldn't have survived either the first removal or the reattachment, making further devertebratization somewhat pointless.

I don't know what happened to Fez. What came of those exercises Doc Strangelove and I told you not to do? You know, the ones where you planned to bend backwards off the edge of your bed and do 180-degree situps or something? Maybe you don't remember that (from head trauma or from the normal passage of time), but I recall you were going to do them and it struck me as remarkably unwise.

            ...wait, Adam Smith is dead?

.......how long have I been gone....?
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Now this is a blast from the past all right.

I remember a time where someone's casual mention of 'Albert Speer' would bring associations to Apolyton before I thought of the actual Nazi architect. I still haven't figured out why you'd want to use that name, but there's no personal grudge around.
