This is an empirical statement. Do you have any evidence for this?

        Asher:

In the US, our 2-year degrees are called Associates degrees and are not usually conferred by colleges but by junior colleges or community colleges. Our colleges are either small schools or part of larger universities. For example, a university's school of engineering would be a college in the bigger university.

Interesting note, there is one high school in the country that can award bachelor's degrees, believe it or not. Central High School here in Philly.

Are you just trolling? What is controversial about what I said? The man is more important than the degree. I took issue with him saying the paper is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. It is only worth what he makes of it.

Come on, all of us with degrees know a degree doesn't guarantee anything and really doesn't mean much. It's just a piece of paper stating you know how to handle a college course-load and have some rudimentary understanding of whatever your major is. A company is going to have to train or re-train you anyway.

Asher, we call all of them diplomas. When I graduated high school I got a diploma.

                          everyone else: thanks
