To protect the guilty
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891Tags: None

How can you say that ANY of the above are problems with the legal system (even if you think they are problems and I only see one problem there) when you compare them to corporate lawsuits and tort rules?
You know, where you sue McDonald's over some bull**** thing and the cost of litigating is so high and discovery is so expensive that they just settle? It's legalized theft.
Doesn't the British system require the loser to pay the winner's legal fees? We should have that here.Yes, the little guy would get the shaft more often but running businesses would be WAY less expensive.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

THE LEGAL SYSTEM HERE [B]DOES[/UNBOLD] ALLOW FOR THE WINNER TO RECLAIM LEGAL FEES IF THE SUIT WAS FRIVILOUS. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF I SUED YOU FOR POSTING STUPID CRAP. YOU WOULD PAY OUT OF POCKET AND THEN ASK FOR LEGAL FEES, WHCIH THE JUDGE WOULD GRANT SO LONGER AS YOU KNOW HOW TO ASK FOR IT. Which by the way A MULTI BILLION DOLLARS COMPANY LIKE MCDONALDS KNOWS HOW TO DO.
And don't even GET ME STARTED ON BRITAIN. If you think business is the best place to start a Britain, you deserve the terrible profits you will see there.
PUBLIC DEFENDERS ARE ANYTHING BUT. They tend to be uneducated pawns that make the legal system look fair. It is not. If you have a public defender, may god have mercy time on your soul because they are probably just environmentalist wackjob pacifists trying to pad their resume. SEE ALSO PRO BONO LAWYERS
