  • What's a good site to host email on for a startup business?

I bought a domain name on a registry service called Directnic. I want to set up email now using that nic. I looked at what they have and it is kind of a pain in the ass, pop3. And also, it limits outgoing messages to 2mb (which is pretty tight in the modern world). and there's no option to upgrade.

Also, this is embarressing, but I don't really know how to use Outlook. always had corporate maintained Lotus for last 10 years for work mail. And then yahoo for personal.

There might also be a webmail option.

Looks good. This directnic thing is stuck in the dark ages. 15 MB limit on emails on the server! Gotta figure out how to port my name over.

My current job (two co-owners plus me) uses asher's second link, which works out pretty well - the emails are addressed to loinburger@furrydiaperdickgirlpizzafetishforum.com instead of loinburger@gmail.com

I was crowing too fast. The google instructions don't seem to work right. and directnic seems to make it very confusing on purpose of how to transfer the name. Grrr.

I guess you don't actually transfer the domain, but you do som Cname thingie. hard.

Yes, google doesn't take over the whole domain. Just the cname.

And the stupid Directnic thing is not responding. I think they are sleazey (and I was warned about sleazey domain registrars and tried to avoid them, but still hit one I think.)

I've wandered into some 1999 part of the internet. Directnic sells email service that only has 15mb storage. And they can't seem to have their website work. It has Markos Gianapolis disease. Maybe I should ping it. He would alsways want that.

If the same server slowness affecting my account panel in Directnic affects the domain name, I want that thing out of there. What is a reputable bulletproof domainhosting service?
