  • To Protect the Innocent

Your opinion of me might be quite low, I understand that, its what some of you do. Still, I want to find common ground and I thought the best place to find it would be the most basic human choice, to protect the innocent or participate in or stand aside in the defiling of innocence. In the bible Jesus says that anyone who hurts children is in real trouble with him, or something like that. Perhaps one of our believers will care to search his memory for the actual quote.

For me this choice is simple, I will stand with everything I have before an innocent will be harmed. To me that means that if someone who is too young to stand for themselves or too weak then I will step up. This is bolstered by a deep anger within myself that comes out as fury, I'll admit it. But, can you better contain your anger when a child is at risk? When a woman who is not strong is faced with the power of a strong, demanding man and is in fear? Ahh, did I catch you there? Where does your honor fail? How about a weak man who is persecuted by a strong man? Do you stand idly by? How about a strong man of honor failing before the mob, what then? What about a public forum, where the voice of reason is drowned in a groundswell of hate? Do you step in and show you courage or fade into the mob? Or an internet forum where reason is abandoned and ignorance is championed? Do you step up and face that champion?

One man here does, and I'm not discussing myself. Does any here have the courage to say No More! to the trolls to stand with him, and be a man, and no more than that? Are there men yet among you who would protect the innocent? Are there a few who would stand to make a right choice in the face of many?

Are you saying the OT should be as merciful with Lancer as Lancer was with K. M.?

Well, as best I can parse it, he's trying to make scolding trolls into some sort of grand moral imperative akin to a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save his buddies. But I could be reading him wrong.

I don't like bullies in any form. Weak is weak, be it a child, a woman, or less strong man.

If he's so brave and honorable why doesn't he just stop pussyfooting around and spit out what's on his mind?

As far as I can make out, it means this-

1- There is a person, or possibly persons, who are weak and/or innocent. We don't know who they are.

2- They are apparently in conflict with others. We don't know why.

3- We don't know who those others are, either.

4- However there is one person who is willing to take a stand against those unidentified others. We don't know why, or what sort of stand we are talking about. We don't know who he is, either. In fact that only fact that's been firmly settled is that he isn't Lancer.

5- Others are asked if they are willing to join in the unspecified stand, along with the aforementioned unidentified man/woman, against the unidentified others, in support of the unidentified victim (or victims), for unspecified reasons and for an indeterminate duration.

6- And that would be the right thing to do. Apparently.

                      Is that close?

Incidentally, if this turns out to be about Dale I'll be disappointed at how much of my time I just wasted.

A person being weak does not make them right, or righteous. And don't try and pull any of your Judeo-Christian guilt trips on me! It won't work.

I think the thread is about how Lancer takes a stand for the child brides he pimps out.
