Well, it is massively different. Anglican clergy are allowed to have sex and get married.

But you still have those secluded confessionals, right?

I personally think a person can become 'gay' by any number of things. But to say it's simply a 'choice' (I'm not saying you are saying this) is still bunk, to me, unless you are somewhere in the spectrum between gay and straight and can choose to suppress one side.

I think some people are gay because of how the genetics are wired (people who know before they're 10 or so are likely candidates).
I think some people are gay because of childhood events or traumas, which impact behaviours and thought processes, etc.
I think some people are gay because of hormonal imbalances (I'm thinking of the guys who are particularly effeminate in looks and behaviour -- excessive estrogen, lack of testosterone?)

The "different causes" theory is sound to me, simply because of the variety of 'types' of gay people. I think what causes a "queen" to be gay is different than what would cause a sexually abused football player to be gay which is different from what would cause an excessively analytical computer geek to be gay.

But there is absolutely a spectrum of sexuality. I'm gay but I wouldn't rate myself at any extreme on a scale, it'd be somewhere inbetween but closer to the gay side. I know there's a ton of "straight" guys out there that are not on the extreme side either, but still explore or think about exploring the other side -- including quite a few people here at this very site.
Yea, I agree completely with this. As with any nature vs. nurture debate the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

Try confessing something to an Anglican vicar and he/she would probably start panicking.

That's a lot of words just to avoid the well-known FACT that homosexuality is caused by a virus.
