Why the heck does MSFT not have these COMMON numbering formats in their libraries. These have been around forever and are the most common. And MSFT has been making MS Word for umpteen versions now.

    School-learned outline style:
    I.
    A.
    1.
    a.

    Numbered descending style
    1.
    1.1.
    1.1.1.
    etc.

Instead they have these bastardization mishmashes of different letters and numbers. GRRR!

I've a feeling this will in short order turn into a complaint about not having branching threads.

We should go back to carrier pigeons. They were much more pleasant mail men.

Given that it is a tool for writing DOCUMENTS, perhaps the MSFTers should be familiar with these things. Sheesh.

Why can't I sort within tables in Powerpoint?

A table in a PPT slide is pretty darn similar in usage to a table in Word. But...NO...no feature to alpha or numerically sort. What the heck POINT is there in having the different programs under the same umbrella if they don't share usage features? Especially commonly needed ones.

Dude, you cannot manipulate data in powerpoint. wtf

It's for presentations, not analysis. Although you can change file type and thus export a table from excel through powerpoint.

For God's sake, use excel for your data manipulation (not word). Put it in powerpoint when you're done playing with it.

People do things directly in ppt. People write presentations and then want to organize it. Why the heck can I "manipulate data in Word" (I can, see the tables!)

And where the hell are the Harvey balls (moon shape pie charts)? And how come you can't label bubbles in a bubble chart automatically? This is frigging 2010! I saw same exact issues with frequent usage in 2000. Do they ever look at user behavior?
