Flash Mob Idiocy

I thought flash mobs were supposed to be harmless social events meant to satirize conformity, but it seems like people have taken it in another direction in Philly. 3 times in the last 2 months, groups of 1000+ teens have gathered in popular social areas around town, wreaking havoc. Innocent bystanders have gotten injured. Police seem to be at a loss for how to control the local twist of this pop phenomenon..

Philadelphia police said a "flash mob" with thousands of teenagers and young adults swarmed South Street Saturday night causing businesses to close early and bringing law enforcement from across the city to control the crowd.
