And I have never supported violence at protests, not ever.

But also, there was a five year period where I treated this place like the plague.

And people like Cindy Sheehan, Greenpeace, and PETA drive me absolutely bonkers.

To a certain extent, yeah. A movement is always better in my opinion when it lifts itself up rather than tear its opponents down. I'm not a fan of extremism in any form.

But that is apples to the oranges of the bigotry that is coming out at the Tea Parties from certain of the participants, which seems to me to be a far greater proportion of those taking part than in the anti-war protests.

And for the record, in case my position isn't clear, most Republicans are fine, genuine people for whom I have a great respect and with whom I have a severe disagreement. Neocons and bigots not included, of course.
