  • So, I had pancreatitis

... and it hurt like a mf'er... sorry for the bad language. Just when I got back from oncologist, I noticed that I have quite of a stomach ache. My upper stomach was really aching, couldn't sleep well. I didn't feel like going to a doctor, because I just had my run with the whole brain thing.

Oh well, it didn't go away. Then my body just started hurting even more, my skin turned yellow, fever came along and I just had to go, because it could be serious and most likely is. After having my butt fingered and all other nice things, they quickly determined I have gallstones. Tomorrow I will have a surgery on it, it should be fast and over quickly and I might get home tomorrow as well. Should be pretty standard operation and quite safe. But word to the wise, it's time to go to a doctor when your skin AND eyes turn yellow, your stomach and back hurts, most likely your pancreas is not doing well. The normal value which was taken from me just two weeks ago due to the brain thing was 25 for me and in the hospital now it was 1900.... that means pretty high and abnormal. You can actually die from pancreatitis, fortunately I had gallstones, and they'll be taken cared of tomorrow.

I think I'm done with health issues for a long time now. I have my MRI scan in two weeks, so hopefully that goes well and I can breath easily for quite some time, I should be healthy now. I was so worried that it's a tumor in my body they just missed, that I have stomach cancer or something like that, that also spread to my brain later... and now it showed up. Fortunately it was gallstones.

I don't know that... all I know is that I'm pretty much done with going to a hospital. Then again, my body has been scanned and fingered so much now, that it should be CLEAN.

Also one thing I've learned about our system. You have to get through the first line of defense in the hospital system, the... what's the word for it... the daily operation etc. You take a number and wait your turn to see the doctor, and everyone goes to this same system, it is only after the doctor decides that you should be really examined that you will be then admitted into the hospital, and you become a real patient, and THEN it all starts to really work out. Then you get everything you want, you get the good doctors, you get specialists, you get the latest things in the field. Before that though? You're in line and waiting your turn forever. I was there, all yellow and in pain, waited for 3 hours just to see a doctor who wasn't really interested in me, but after almost begging they sent me for blood tests... after results came, I was taken in and everything was smooth after that. So it's a two level thing and you have to get to the second level or you're screwed and get nothing at all. It's like the first one is ER (it actually is), the second is hospital, which is good. You want hospital, never ER.

They also used ultra on my body, so I should be clean now. I know my butt is clean.

          Vitamin D

or is that for estrogen driven cancer? I cant keep track, breast cancer is in the family. Anyway, I cant say for sure but there may be a geographic link to cancer - people who dont get enough sun get it more, and I dont know if thats in general or specific types.

No, aspirin has been shown to be effective at inhibiting estrogen driven breast cancer. But I cant imagine it doesn't help at all in other cases.

I was operated and doing fine. I should get home tomorrow, but I'm in a room with 5 others, and 2 of them are sick as hell, fever, who knows what kind of influenza, right after surgery too... ****. Safest thing would be to get home NOW. No such luck. They'll keep us locked in here, and one of the mofos is coughing right next to me.

Hoping to be OK tomorrow as well.

I had pancreatitis too, but I haven't even noticed that. Docs told me that I had it only months later during routine check. Still I have no idea how they could be sure about that I had it.

I guess it can go from mild to very dangerous... glad you're OK though. It's scary when inner organs go to some kind of strike on you. Never a good thing... like today, the doctor just went by us all in the room, giving sentences "OK..... for you... it was.... X, it was because of alcohol, you'll get it again if you drink and then you might die".

Thank God mine was just Gallstones.... I can't drink anyway for a long time due to my epilepsy medication but the anyway, peoples organs were pretty much failing in my room. Young people too. Just for this once, my case was one of the more easier ones.... just gallstones. "Watch what you eat... avoid fatty stuff when you can."

But going through that anesthesia stuff twice in few months, I'm telling you guys, it's pretty taxing. Once again I remember that it was not the operation itself.... but big thanks to my surgeons again, great job

Welcome back, buddy. I missed you at that Asher's pathetic thread about Olympic hockey. Hope you'll be there at May during the World Championships so we can discuss the assrapining of team Canada (the ****ers clearly deserved to be assinated, imho).
