  • Iran captures CIA-backed terrorist leader

Iran arrested its most-wanted terrorist, the leader of Jundullah. Jundullah is known to have connections with the CIA (along with MEK, among other terror groups). And sure enough, he's singing about his US/CIA backers providing him arms and supplies for carrying out terrorist acts.

Iran Jundullah leader claims US military support:

"The Americans said... that we don't have a problem with al-Qaeda or the Taliban, but the problem is Iran and we don't have a military programme against Iran."

"They [Americans] promised to help us and they said that they would co-operate with us, free our prisoners and would give us [Jundullah] military equipment, bombs, machine guns, and they would give us a base,"

CIA backing for terrorists is nothing new of course, especially in Iran: US funds terror groups to sow chaos in Iran

A significant victory in the fight against extremist American terrorists.

    Two things caught my eye.
    1. Leads with, "we have no clue whether this is legit or not."
    2. Instead of giving the date that it started, stating that it was right after Obama took office implying that Obama supports terrorism.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

it's also worth remembering that when someone, whether a militant leader or opposition activist, is arrested, a fairly standard technique of the iranian regime is to get the arrested person to say that they were working for the americans, the british or some other western power. these sorts of 'confessions' go down very well with the public and make the iranian government look good at fighting the great satan...

I think it's been aptly demonstrated you can make anyone say whatever you want them to under "enhanced interrogation techniques".

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

His confession squares with years of documented connections between CIA and Jundallah.

          edit:
U.S. officials tell ABC News U.S. intelligence officers frequently meet and advise Jundullah leaders

Also I don't see the 'blame Obama' slant on it, but Bush was known to have funded terrorism against Iran: George W Bush 'raised $400 million for action against Iran'.

            Bush funded?

President George W Bush requested and received funding of $400 million (£200 million) for the plan after he made a secret appeal to Congressional leaders last year.

The money is likely to be used for operations carried out by the CIA and other intelligence agencies, according to the New Yorker magazine.
            1. Congress funded it. You must indict everyone in congress if anyone. Bush is not on the appropriations committee.

            2. That's not terrorism, dumbass.

ps. Your other article from the telegraph is BS too...

Although Washington officially denies involvement in such activity, Teheran has long claimed to detect the hand of both America and Britain in attacks by guerrilla groups on its internal security forces.
            Stop reading that fish rag.

Bush sanctions 'black ops' against Iran

Mr Bush has signed an official document endorsing CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilise, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs.

Under the plan, pressure will be brought to bear on the Iranian economy by manipulating the country's currency and international financial transactions.

...the CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan.

Propaganda and disinformation campaign /= terrorism

Bringing pressure on them economically (see also: UNSC Sanctions) /= terrorism

There is no evidence, at all, of weapons being supplied - but I sure hope we are doing so.

Look dude, you can try to blame Iran's problems on the west too. I'm sure Ahwackjob would appreciate it.

Again, stop with the Telegraph crap. Using tabloids as sources is lame.

Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh reported much of Bush's Reign of Terror as well.

The Jundollah group has claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attacks in Iran. The group has carried out mass murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, acts of sabotage and bombings. They have targeted civilians and government officials as well as all ranks of Iran's military.

We have clear documents proving that Rigi was in co-operation with American, Israeli and British intelligence services."

Moslehi said Rigi had been in a US military base 24 hours before his arrest and was carrying an Afghan passport supplied by the US.

Compared to Iranian state media, Fox is fair and balanced.

Farnews.com might as well be Farfur.com

What, there is no other source and the only option is to defend the Iranian state media as the one true source on this? Really? Surely you guys have something from youtube to back this up. Go edit something on wiki real quick and give me that at least.
