  • Give me your best chili recipe.

Keep in mind I will be using a slow cooker for it.

Don't just pull a recipe you think sounds good from the web--you should be able to personally vouch for the quality.

    Thanks!

I use Hot Italian sausage along with some ground hamburger, diced tomatos, diced onions, tomato sauce and tomato paste, honey, yellow mustard, can of domestic beer, chili seasoning, worchestershire pepper blend, garlic powder, red kidney beans, chili powder, red cayenne pepper along with what is called a HotShot Pepper and serve with Frito Lays chips, some shredded mild cheddar cheese and as an alternative add some sour creme.

As far as peppering goes, you would have to experiment, I am a hot sauce connouseur, so hawt is my deal!

Chili is one of those things I could never really get just right. It was always ok but never great.

I have found that cooking for an extended period on a slow simmer really enhances to taste, at least with my limited experiences

I don't think it's available on the east coast.

I don't think I've ever had canned chili that was worth a thing. I've not tried that brand. If I see it, I guess I could try it. I can always throw it out if it sucks.

The only real rule for chili is that it must have beans in it.

Only if you're not in an officially sanctioned chili cook off.
