On-topic, before the surgery she always wanted to lie down on the sofa watching television, which she couldn't do while her glasses were in the way. Her vision is perfect now, and her quality of life has obviously improved in many ways. And that of her boyfriend too, no doubt.
You're assuming the boyfriend was attractive. With laser-eye surgery, she can now see during sex. Maybe they broke up.

Eventually, I'll get it done. But I do have a question: Would stargazing be impacted? I understand that laser correction has an effect in low-light situations.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I've heard that's a possibility. Procedure can give you halos around stars, streetlamps, etc

I has a preliminary meeting today with a rep about it. $3600 total cost, and that's with a discount through my company vision plan. That pays for everything--consultations, surgery, follow-up visits, any additional treatments to fix problems within 1 year, etc. The doctor has been doing the procedure for 20 years, and the equipment they have is supposedly state-of-the-art.

That's more money than I thought it would be, and negates the "but I'd save money in the long run" argument for getting the surgery, since there's no way I'll spend that much on contact lens solution in even 20 years. I can afford it, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much on what is really just a convenience issue. Undecided...

My uncle got Lasik and actually died during the procedure. None of us saw it coming (and it is not because we didn't have contacts lol lol )

if the laser set up is the size of the Death Star's main battery, you probably want to find another outfit to fix your eyes.

That seems like a lot. I got it done in '99 and it was only 3000 and I thought it was coming down a lot. But then this is a procedure that you want done right, not necessarily cheapest.

I had really bad eyes ( I am surprised Cali can't get his fixed fully) and everything turned out perfectly. It was the best thing I have ever done. Now I do know some people that didn't have as good of an experience, but they just needed an extra procedure or two.

I also don't like anything near my eye but surprisingly was able to get it done, and got all the eye drops in for the weeks after.

I get the halos with my night vision. They told me it was because my eyes were bad enough that they had to correct a larger area so my pupils dilate enough that light enters the eye through the corrected and uncorrected parts of the cornea. I didn't have great night vision before with glasses so it's not a big issue for me.

MY college roomate had this done back in 1986 when it was all relatively new. I think it cost something like 10K back then but in his case its still fine

My wife's cousin had this done last year. He had no problems but again went to a more reputable place . There are places that are way cheaper on prices but to me, I would rather waste money than find out my bargain wasn't a bargain

I have -13 in the left eye and -15 in the right. Lasik is possible but not recommended, as the chances of complications are higher.
