AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – Miep Gies, the office secretary who defied the Nazi occupiers to hide Anne Frank and her family for two years and saved the teenager's diary not, has died, the Anne Frank Museum said Tuesday. She was 100.

On a thinly related note, I'm reminded of the stage production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" that was supposedly so awful that during the second act, when the Nazis entered, members of the audience shouted, "They're in the attic!"

Was listening to a radio piece about this woman today. They had a recorded interview with Anne's father talking about how he received the diary from her the same day he found out his two girls were dead. Started tearing up while I was on the freeway.
