After all, why work when we can just print paper money and make "profits"? A pleasant fantasy, but not a sustainable one.

edit: In either case, the idea that federal stimulus is effective in job creation and economic recovery is at odds with the current reality.

Price controls always work so well, I mean, they worked so great for Mugabe so I'm sure this will go just peachy for Chavez. Chavez has ordered the national guard to go store to store looking for shops which are selling goods at rates higher then the official allowed amount. I'm sure the official price is below the cost of the item too so this should turn out great just like Chavez's price controls on basic food stuffs like coffee. Gee, you mean if no one can sell the goods without losing money no one wants to sell them? What a radical idea.

This is why uneducated peasants shouldn't be allowed to hold higher office. They're so stupid they break basic economic laws and then don't understand why things aren't working.

The cost of imported goods, meaning about 80% of the items people consume, just doubled but Chavez demands store prices stay exactly the same! Gee, I wonder if the store shelves are going to be empty in a very short while? There is not much hope for domestic producers picking up the slack either since Chavez is insisting they sell their goods at below the cost to produce them.

Chavez couldn't turn profit running a ****ing Kmart. This latest price control thing is laughable.
