There was no year 0. The first decade A.D. ran from 1 January A.D. 1 till 31 December A.D. 10, after which the decade turned. Add 2000 years (200 decades) to each of those dates and you will see that we're still in the 201st decade A.D. for another year. The 202nd decade won't begin until 1 January 2011.

Hmm, since A.D was made up considerably later then 10 years after, I don't think it matters that there was no year 0, so I have no problems calling this week the end of the decade. Deal with it.

Not just that, but the calendar has changed from 0 A.D. The Gregorian Calendar wasn't adopted until 1582.

That's a bit misleading way of putting it, it was adopted between the 16th and 20th centuries in European countries, with most adopting it between 16th and 18th centuries.
