I for one go on the record that American Football >>> Football Football. It's just a better game all round! The only problem with watching NFL games is the incessant American short attention span consumerist bull**** that basically ****s with a 60 minute game and bloats it into something that takes at least 3 hours on average...

Sad to say it, but the evolution of American Football is the logical outcome of a nation too weak and and physically incapable to play a proper sport like Rugby - American Football started its life as Rugby, but over years the Yanks had to constantly water it down into a pale imitation. For example:

Rugby: 80 minutes - American Football: 60 minutes. What, can't Americans handle running around for 80 minutes!?

Rugby: 2 halves - American Football: 4 quarters. Not content with scything off 25% of the game time, yanks need 2 more excuses to rest...!

Rugby: Non stop play (except for fouls, penalties, injuries etc) - American Football: Play is cut down into yet more stoppages called downs! An average play only lasts about 10-15 seconds; with a team allowed to use upto 45 seconds from the end of one play to the snap of another - that's like another 75% of the available time that American Football players can be using their inhalers and avoiding actually running around!!!

Rugby: No stupid advert breaks, except at half time - American Football: Hundreds of ads coming out of the sphincter! Yet more excuses for the yanks to put their feet up!

Really guys, how much time is actually action in an American Football game!!??? 10 minutes!!? Less!!?

And I'm not even going to get started on the sissy-girl full body pads and, basically, armour so they don't break their nails...
