I live in an apartment building with a shared washroom - I don't know what you call it, so I improvised - I wash my clothes there, not myself.

Laundry room. Washroom is where you pee, poop, brush your teeth and shower. Dirtiest and cleanest room in the house.

            1 - car
            2 - home
            3 - work
            1 - parent's house
            2 - unknown

I don't know what that is. I live in an old building. Surprised there's even heat and running water. I live on the fifth floor with a narrow staircase and no elevator. Moving large furniture in/out is a nightmare every time.

Work/uni is different. That's the keycard with personalized access as you say.

Well, my door key can open my private appartment door, mailbox, cellarroom and the common acces to cellar, main entrance, my neighbour can open his personal locks and the common doors etc.

It doesn't matter that you live in an old building , any locksmith can install it.

Edit: dammit, forgot for a moment that you are swedish - talk with your blacksmith.

Ok. Actually, I can get in the building itself with either the laundry room key or my apartment key, but either key doesn't work for the other door.

Edit: Laundry room key is too narrow a name, since I use it to get in the storage areas (attic and cellar) as well.

I didn't mention I have several of old keys from them changing locks here recently, so that's at least three more lying in a jar.

Hey at least my door's sturdy enough to withstand our Middle Eastern imported superburglars. I bet yours'd disintegrate after one whiff of kebab with strong sauce breath.

I cleverly hid that one in with "work" keys.

It doesn cost much to change - a couple of years ago we got a more secure system and it only cost some hundred kroner - well DKR, so it will cost you more .
