I kind of like Glee. I don't think anyone is supposed to take it seriously.
It's a musical farce, that sometimes tries to make a point.
Think of it as a Marx's brothers movie that pretends to teach a lesson.
If the plot takes a turn for the worse, SING ANOTHER SONG.

        Boris -

**** on a stick dude. I already said I have other options of things to get that she likes.

I know nothing of Glee and am inquiring if it is crap or not so I know whether to consider it an option. Gee Boris, maybe I'm thinking about a gift she might enjoy more than a couple weeks?

So what exactly is your problem?

Glee is a guilty pleasure for a lot of people. Its ratings are surprisingly high.

No, it's not realistic (it's a musical). That's not the point, of course.

            She's also a fan of Idol. I suspect there's a crossover demographic?

My neighbor kids are all into Idol, Glee, and High School Musical

              How old is she?

They have digital cameras and mp3 players with this crap plastered all over it at Toys R Us for very cheap. I actually bought my neighbors 7 yo the digital camera on a whim. (Note: they are like family to us, so don't think I'm being the creepy neighbor... I'm that way to the people behind me who don't like my telescope where it is)

You didn't post saying, "My sister has given me X, Y, Z options, which should I get her?" That might have led to a fruitful discussion as to the pros and cons of getting a certain gift over another.

Instead, you seemed to be fishing for people to approve or disapprove the quality of your sister's musical tastes, as if what some *******s on the internet think about the music makes a difference as far as your sister's enjoyment of the soundtrack. My response is: who the **** cares what anyone else thinks? If she likes it, there's no reason not to get it for her.

I already responded directly to you.

False choice. I could buy her something she wants besides Glee.

Why do you need to be told the same things more than once?

I've been 20. If asked what I wanted at that age I wouldn't always give the wisest answer.

Your sister is 23 years younger than you?

I was wondering the same thing about you:

If she likes it, there's no reason not to get it for her.

Your opinion on how long she may or may not enjoy it doesn't really matter. In fact, it's rather insulting towards your sister.

I've been 20. If asked what I wanted at that age I wouldn't always give the wisest answer.
Ah, so it's your opinion of what would be a wise gift that we're supposed to divine. In that case, just buy her a government bond and be done with it.

I'm glad I don't think so little of my relatives' ability to know what they enjoy.

                                Oh ****! Someone called BS.

                                Yes sir.

I also have a 23 year old brother and two older step brothers (different mom) 45 and 47.

I'm a "middle child" although I grew up an "only child". My step brothers lived with their mom for the most part and my younger siblings came along well after I had left the house.
