    What's wrong with this picture (non-Canadians only)

        Not necessarily. Could have pulled the goalie. Don't know what happened in that game. My problems:

        1) We're losing
        2) The high defenseman should actually be at the point in order to cycle the puck to the guy in the left circle (left from our perspective, right from goalie's)
        3) Nobody's covering that guy in the left circle. They've taken away the direct passing lane, but there would be a cycle available if aforementioned defenceman wasn't retarded.

        EDIT: oh, crap, didn't scroll over to see the 7th man.

          Which could have accounted for the 6th Montreal skater... but what about the 7th?

                To be fair, it's expecting a bit much for refs to be able to count past 5

                    I saw some 4 on 3 hockey on Monday, during OT. That was fun. Ice was empty as hell.

                      Honestly, they should modify the rules so that you can say "I will go down to two people for X minutes in Y quarter so that I can go up a person now".

                      Would make for some interesting coaching.

                            One of the 6 is the goaltender. Generally we mean skaters when we talk about strength on ice.
