“I just think the other kids may tease me for being in trouble,” he said, pausing before adding, “but I think the rules are what is wrong, not me.”

I think the suit and tie will lead to more teasing then being in trouble.

He's obviously a nerdy little kid who meant no harm. However, "no tolerance" policies can't be broken or else they wouldn't be "no tolerance" policies. If I were the parents I would arrange for home schooling over the reform school.

If I were the parents, I'd go postal on the school - no tolerance works both ways...

I do it for the sake of sharing odd, weird, or absurd news stories. I didn't know we had to comment on every news story that we share. I just posted the article for the sake of sharing.

I'm the same way. Not every article needs a poster comment.

I disagree on long posts. If you're going to expect me to take the time to read it, I'm interested in what you think about it and why you thought it was interesting enough to take my time. I don't expect a dissertation but something appropriate for the length of the op.

I hear you but I think sometimes an article speaks for itself. Adding to it runs the risk of repeating what you just finished reading.

All these boring rules - what section and paragraph is the above rule under?

Wezil pretty much said what I wanted to say - if an article is interesting in of itself and the point is obvious to most people, I don't think I need to expand on it.

                        +1

What are your thoughts? What do you think is important. It wasn't a small blurb. I tend to say, don't care enough to read it (especially a MrFun article ) and move further down the thread for actual interesting content.

If the article isn't interesting enough to read why would you feel compelled to post in the thread?

Because most threads tend to veer away from the OP, it's just a question of when... and if the article isn't interesting, well...

Because I took the time to read it and was annoyed that he didn't take the time to voice his own opinion. It took him mere seconds to cut an paste it. I expected more. And you'll note that all my posts in this thread really don't address the OP but the fact that I consider it rude to post it without comment. Yes, yes a minor rudeness, but if people's rudeness is never pointed out, there is no chance they'll change. I don't expect a change anyway but I can always hope.
