I'm wondering if there will be a push to outlaw them once the economic realities would sink in.
Who will lose out? My thinking is that mostly average guys will opt for artifical, the too poor to afford Jessica Alba companion 3.4 will probably be celibate or settle for bottom catch. The alpha males will most likley be unaffected since they alread live in a world of plenty, possibly there would be more of them since the standard would be lowered.
Women? I think most that can afford sex robots will probably buy them, but they are less likley to use them as full time substitutes as many beta men will.
Prostitutes of both sexes would have their profits slashed. Marriage would be less affected since a wife would still have the monopoly on reproduction, but on the other hand I think less people would end up married since long term childless monogamy simply wouldn't make economic sense and I don't see to many people eager to get a GF or BF just so they can make offspring as soon as possible.
