hmmm i didn't know you could embed from grooveshark...awesome, time for some stuff that's not on youtube then! first sheffiled indie band hoggboy who had excellent first single, a good album and then kind of fizzled out. went to see these guys in a dingy basement somewhere in bradford in 2002, cracking night.
heart throbs were a british indie band from the late 80s/early 90s, they released 3 albums, becoming quite an angry band by the third, but the heartfelt, dreamy indie pop of the first (cleopatra grip) is where it's at.
heart throbs - kiss me when i'm starving
heart throbs - slip & slide
(lots) more to follow in due course.

damnit, AAHZ. Now you introduced something new so Cockney can post bizarre obscure bands that performed in a basement in Banbury in the summer of 1989

1989 you say? ok well the field mice were a band from the UK, they did mostly twee pop songs (a couple of which i've posted here before) and that's what they're most famous for, but they also did some really interesting experimental works, obviously influenced by the rave music of the time, especially on skywriting. the contrast is pretty awesome.
twee pop:
the field mice - canada
experimental:
the field mice - triangle
the field mice - tilting at windmills

i've posted this before, but youtube removed the video and it certainly deserves another airing. a track that should be played to any doubters of techno.
fever ray - triangle walks (allez allez remix)
