Another album I played to death when I bought it. Brings back very happy memories of playing this in the early morning at the halls of residence in my first year at Manchester...

If only the Francoise Hardy e.p.s had been in better (or even good) condition I would have bought them. I almost bought them just for the covers...

    This is the consolation prize...

An eerie version of 'Slim' by Alpha... from the album 'ComeFromHeaven'. Having bought the album when it came out, I always buy a copy whenever I see it at record fairs or in charity shops and hand it out to peopit I think will appreciate it.

Not Michael, but Mick Jackson. And what better than just after the weekend to sing about the 'Weekend'...

Actually purchased a v. nice copy of Bryan Ferry's 'A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall' single in an original Island label bag. I think I've posted Ferry's very innovative promo. video for that before, but his version of the Roxy Music song '2.H.B.' is on the flip side. It has always been one of my favourite Roxy Music songs- and it's a tribute to the great Humphrey Bogart, another favourite.

So this is a rare performance of the song in concert by Roxy Music, rather than Ferry's solo version...

A soundtrack purchase- on c.d. only alas...

And every time I hear the phrase 'the world in which we live in' it still grates...

Also covered by Duffy, and unfortunately, Guns 'n' Roses...

Brass band sounds littered songs and singles throughout the late 60s and early 70s. Something to do with the then fashion for late Victoriana/Edwardiana clothes and art, I suspect...
