From the "perspective" of the late sixties, everything looks brilliant, because the perspective of the late sixties was heavily influenced by a ton of psychoactive chemicals. It's not a song because THERE'S NO DAMNED SINGING. Okay, you can call a classical piece a "song," though it's technically a serious misnomer. But that has some sort of rhythm to it. I agree its not everyones "cup of tea", but you have to consider it within the context of the music at that time (1968). From that perspective, it's brilliant.
I haven't seen much Jackson Pollack, but what I have seen is, at best, very ugly and overrated art. Like most modern art.Comment

I think the attempted purpose of Revolution 9 on the White Album was to make some of the other pointless, self-indulgent pap on there sound a bit better. Not sure that it worked, though. It should never have been a double album.Comment
