    Get a new one!

I recommend Tiscali, whose connection has always been excellent for me - no bandwidth problems, no maximum download problems, but you can't bloody get it where I live now!

Unless you're already with Tiscali, or live in the sticks too, in which case I apologise and sympathise.

To be honest, consistent connection problems mean that they are not fulfilling their end of the agreement you made with them, and so you can demand that they end your contract without any legal bothers. They've broken the contract (make sure you read it properly to ensure that they've promised you performance with their connection before taking this route), and you can move to a better ISP without recourse to law courts. They'll have experience with this, and know how expensive it'll be to find that they'll have to cancel your contract anyway, and the vast majority of times won't even bother going to court, even though they'll threaten you with it if you want to stop the contract. Read it several times - hell, post it here, and ask for advice - before you go down this route. Alternatively, just say that you won't recommend it to any of your mates, and hope that this will influence them to improve the service/allow you to leave without any legal trouble.

      Good luck.

sucks. I was so frustrated. I still have a crappy ISP. I just have to admit, I live in a backwards country that will never get decent broadband.

The goverment thinks it's OK for cable companies to have a virtual monopoly on broadban . So if the cable company doesn't want to repair the lines in your neighborhood because of one complaining customer, you are screwed.

I went to wireless. But wireless being err wireless, it's not very reliable either. But better than my cable which at the end didn't work at all. Wireless speeds are kinda crappy though, and there are disconnects.

I've got wireless but I've turned it off, having abused so many other idiots' wireless before that I don't want anyone to do it to me, despite the fact I've changed the default password, as none of my victims ever have....
