As long as the interim guy can't run in the General I wouldn't have a problem with that.

As I was saying, I don't think there's a constitutional way to do that. But as a practical matter, due to Patrick's unpopularity, it would have to be a temporary pick like Dukakis. The other MA politicos wouldn't accept anything else.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

There's loads of talk about corruption in Chicago but most of the surverys I've seen normally rate New Orleans as more corrupt and sometimes even Las Vegas as more corrupt. Chicago's up there but not as much as it used to be imo. It's not exactly the town Al Capone ran rough shod over any more.

Hell, even Baltimore and Daytona Beach could give Chicago a run for its money.
