Breakfast club was always overrated as far as I'm concerned.

Sixteen Candles and Ferris were probably by favorites. WS and PT&A while not as good were still quite entertaining.

Hard not to call someone who did all those movies as defining a generation (movie wise at least).

And of those, he directed Ferris Bueller, 16 Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, and Planes, Trains, and Autos.

uncle buck because well it was the best one out of all the movies in his filmography

the rest are bad 80's movies with no redeeming qualities whatsoever

I don't actually like Home Alone as I think it glamorizes violence. No wonder kids are so violent these days.

The rest of the movies he directed were awesome. Some of the ones he wrote weren't quite as good. But his track record at directing is pretty good.

And people not liking National Lampoons vacation movies? pity. Although the first one is the best. European Vacation wasn't that good. But then they did Christmas Vacation (don't think Hughes wrote that one) which was an improvement.
