Police officer is called out because a car crashed into a house. Officer sees suspect lying face down under a trailer. Does not respond to verbal commands (including under threat of a police dog and taser). Officer shines a flashlight on him, he gets out from under the trailer, is arrested.

Officer: Is that your car in the house?
Suspect: Yes, officer
O: Have you been drinking tonight?
S: Yes, a lot
O: How much have you had to drink?
S: About an 18 pack, I guess
O: Why didn't you respond when I told you to come out?
S: I was passed out, man
O: Have you ever been arrested before?
S: Yes, I have an extensive criminal record ( )
O: Well, just give me the highlights. What's the most serious crime you've ever been arrested for?
S: Kidnapping
O: Do you have any warrants out for your arrest?
S: Yes, a couple I think
O: Who were you arrested for kidnapping? Your child from your wife? Something like that?
S: No, I kidnapped a drug dealer

I dislike criminals and trashy people in general, but I figure if you are going to be a ****bag, strive to be the ultimate ****bag. And this guy takes the cake.

Why drink 12 beers when you can drink 18? I like this guy's thinking. No sense restricting yourself to only a 12 pack.

And why not kidnap a drug dealer? They need to be kidnapped more often.

The law should be changed so that it is legal to kidnap a known drug dealer! This guy might have been wiser to say all this down at the station, not in the field.

The Supremes modified the Miranda requirement quite substantially in a recent ruling. The details are fuzzy to me at this time, but the effect was to ease up considerably on what was admissable when Miranda warning occured post the admissions.
