seriously though you guys are a bit hard on Mr. Fun. I don't actually know who this woman is. I don't actually pay attention to sideline reporters. And no it's not because it's a woman, but it's because they say the same damn thing every time. And the coaches say the same damn thing. We gotta focus, and work hard. Well duh!!!

The fact is she was in a private room, and has a right to her privacy. What if it was your mom that was videotaped? You'd want to beat the **** out of the guy who did it. I agree sex assault is over the top. No need for this guy to go to prison. But he does need the crap beat out of him by this woman's father (or husband).

That being said, ummm err where can I find pics?

Well I'm only a man after all. Since the damage is already done, couldn't hurt to look can it?

According to Patty though, comments made in here by some such as Space and KrazyHorse making light of the violation were not SERIOUS.

It's a criminal code violation. I've already stated that. If and when the cops catch him they should charge him.

A bunch of hysterical old ninnies getting the vapours because somebody's privacy was violated is ridiculous.

What happened to her is serious. It is a crime. I can even understand why she would be upset. However she should have seen it coming from the other side of the universe. Pretty people who are famous don't get privacy. I'm not saying they don't deserve it, but they put themselves out there on display to the public and they make sex objects out of themselves. There are a lot of ****ed up people out there willing to take advantage of that.

Personally I don't care who she is. I don't watch sports, never heard of her before this thread and will probably forget about her entirely as soon as this thread leaves the first page.

I would point out that this video did not become a hot topic until Ms. Andrews, through her attorney, made a public statement denouncing the invasion of privacy and, of course, vowing to catch the real videotaper.

The key fact is that this statement was released on PR Newswire, ensuring that it would hit every media center without fail. By releasing the statement late Friday, they ensured a full weekend of Internet propagation (literally hundred of separate YouTube postings, all in violation of nudity prohibition, some linking to infected downloads). All before the primary media cycle resumed on Monday.

If, as reported, this video was on the Intertubes for "months" before it became a firestorm this week, it seems like the correct reaction would have been to find the perps and quash it quietly behind the scenes. (Supposedly it was posted in France, and no one there knows her...)

But no -- they issued a press release.

Andrews has been victimized and objectified, yes. I submit that this was self-inflicted -- maybe even encouraged. I mean, you don't take a gig like hers without a deep-seated need for attention, a huge ego, and a bit of an exhibitionist streak (as confirmed in the video). She wants to be seen, and she surely wants a big career payday before the years catch up with her and she has to work for a living (or marry a rich man). Seems like the outcome here was pretty optimal for her -- lots of exposure, lots of sympathy.

ESPN is, of course, aghast. At their numbers. Look for Erin's assignments to get some advance publicity in the future.

Call me a cynic, but I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was orchestrated.
