Cops Saves Girl, Shoots Her in Head With Taser

She got shot in the head with a dart, and now she's in intensive care.

Some cop treats a taser like it's a toy, and then blames the victim. That's what drives me nuts.

Odds are, if she hadn't gotten hurt, he wouldn't be talking about pressing charges. She's a 14 year old girl with some pretty obvious emotional problems. But since he screwed up, he's got to cover his ass by pinning it on her.

Flight from police is criminal just about everywhere in the USA. It creates hazards for the police, the pursued, and for bystanders.

Sounded more like flight from her parents than the police. I know the chief said he called for her, but (a) that's not the same as her hearing him, and (b) he went on to shoot her in the head with a taser dart, so I'm not entirely inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know that the head shot was on purpose. What do you think the accuracy rate of a dart is between 2 individuals who are running? It wasn't a taser like shock applied hand to body. It was a fired dart.

I don't care whether it was on purpose, and didn't say anything about intent in my post. My point was more that, just by virtue of human nature, after one shoots a little girl in the head with a taser dart, one will tend to remember the details of what transpired a little favorably to oneself. I know I sure as hell would.

For those of you who have assumed.... Tucumcari has NO traffic. To learn more about the level of ethics practiced in that town Google "Realizing Success in a Dying Town" where no one has yet stepped up to help the victim in that situation... same town.

Tucumcari NM has a pop. of ~6000 people. So I would guess that the chief is expected to do street enforcement just like his (likely) 1 or 2 subordinates.
