Err... there are plenty of areas in the US with casinos. Including Atlantic City, Indian reservation casinos, and riverboat gambling in places like Mississippi, etc, etc.

And I bet if you added up all the open casinos in Russia their revenue wouldn't amount to an average sized red skin casino's take.

        Sad but true.

          I agree.

As for Russia changing the rules.... It is their right but it sounds like it was more to punish successful Georgian operators then anything else.
          WHAT???
That's bullsh!t, man. Complete bullsh!t. Gambling is everywhere in Russia. In every little town. You can do a couple of steps without encountering of some sort of gambling machines or gambling places. There was a real gambling infestation here. And that thing went out control entierly. Georgians DO NOT control the Russian gambling industry. I don't know who told you that. It's not about panishment of some exact operators at all. Why the hell we close all gambling places, not the only ones owned by Georgians (if there are any at the first place - all operators pay taxes to the Russian budged not someone else's).

I seriously doubt their new gambling locations will turn into successful resorts in less then a decade because of all the work that will be needed (building casinos, building airports, building other infrastructure and tourist attractions, advertising so potential vacationers know about the place, etc...).
Of course. But don't tell me you made Vegas what it is now within a couple of weeks. It's in the middle of the desert, no? We gave a much beter sites for our gambling operators. Give them time. Construction of the first gamling center at Azov region zone has began months ago.

As far as suspicions of Georgians, that comes from the article. Ask them.

I meant special areas for gambling.
I doubt you can find a gambling machine in a mart somewhere in N.Y.C.
              In Russia you can.

BTW I'm drinking Russian made vodka right now so I'm helping the Russian economy recover from this bad move. In fact I've been drinking slowly for several hours now. I know, I know... No need to thank me.

For caviar though I stick to Californian. It tastes better and is more environmentally conscience then the Russian or Iranian alternatives I could buy. Truthfully western vodka is better too but Russian is so cheap...

For my caviar, I stick to beef fajita nachos. Tex-Mex.

That was actually a good move for our economy, but thank you anyway.

There are no real vodka, except Russian.
It's our brand we have invented that poison

I think the Poles and Swedes would disagree. It is very hard to say who first invented it.

Who cares? Vodka is a Russian brand as champagne is a French brand.

Not really, cosidering that vodka is a mixture of water and spirit. In Russian water is "voda".
Besides the modern standard for vodka (40% alcohol) is invention of the the great Russian chemist Dmitry Mendeleev (who invented the periodic table of elements too, but first he experimented with vodka, of course). And it was the Russian tsarist government monopoly on vodka that made it a real standard (which is still a standard now). The first people who figured out how to make spirit and mix it with water were Arabs, not Russians, Poles or Swedes. The credit for invention of destilation process goes to them. But vodka is our brand.
