  • Living and working in a foreign country

Hey, what do people know about this?

I am thinking about taking a post doc in Sweden.

I was going to tell you to take the opportunity, but then I found out what country it was.

Does Sweden do a lot of nuke stuff?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

If there's a chance you could start this academic year you should apply for the CMU gig

Yeah, and then you signed up to work in Kabul. Why should he believe you're not crazy?

I have thought about that, but I would really like to change fields.

(I won't be doing Nuclear Physics in Sweden, I would be working with Ice Cube)

I'm going to assume you're talking about the "IceCube Neutrino Detector" and not the rapper or small blocks of frozen water.

Uppsala is a small university town. You can get around it on a bike.
