Madoff jailed for 150 years for ‘massive' fraud

Bernard Madoff has been sentenced to the maximum 150 years in prison for his multibillion-dollar fraud scheme.

U.S. District Judge Denny Chin handed down the sentence in New York on Monday.

Defense attorneys had sought 12 years, while prosecutors wanted the maximum. The U.S. federal probation department had recommended 50 years.

Judge Chin called the fraud “staggering” and noted that it spanned more than 20 years. He says “the breach of trust was massive.”

The 71-year-old former Nasdaq chairman pleaded guilty to securities fraud and other charges in March and has been jailed since.
    But he's innocent!

If they had told him he was going to get 150 years, do you think he would have pleaded guilty

Depends on the down side. As I understand it, his wife was at some legal risk and that was removed with his plea.

I don't think BM really expected to be released in his lifetime anyway.

How much did the wife get to keep? Another consideration for the plea I imagine.

Asher if PC gaming is so dead, why do you still buy high priced desktops? Even Gizmodo acknowledges how stupid people like you are.

These sentences confuse me. What is point of 150 years other than life prison? It seems to suggest that authorities are scared of discovery of immortality drug?

On other hand, good idea for him. Have fun life and then get free living and health care in retirement.

Parole considerations. Or rather, the lack thereof.

Sorry, so how does that work? He gets life, no parole I think or he gets 150 years and must have 1/2 (?) of sentence. No difference in practical term?

                          Or immortality drug question?

I am not sure I understand your comments.

You sound like a spoiled and rude little boy but then again you might then have had good education which does not show. So maybe you are indeed backward? If so, I am sorry to highlighs in public but maybe you could try and go for some special classes?
