They all suck.
My firefox has been acting up, eating memory and being generally unresponsive.
So I was searching the web for tips to speed it up, but the more configuration changes I made, the worse it became.
Finally, I made the decision to stop being lazy, and actually read up on the configuration values, and it turns up all the advice was wrong and written by idiots. Instead of making firefox fast, it made it unresponsive and jerky, and this was easily expected if anyone had read the FAQ.
Conclusion: don't rely on tweaking advice.
The same works for most various tweaking advice for windows. Most such advice is written by fools who have NO IDEA how stuff work, and make uneducated guesses judging from variable names.
