Prompted by Japher's thread I decided to to watch the BBC series "Merlin" on hulu. Problem with that is that there are only two full episode up. So I decided to go to the BBCs website to see if they host full episodes as many networks now do, no such luck. However what I did discover was that I am not allowed to view the videos that they do have because I do not reside in the UK. So I decided to research how to mask my IP, in all of about 2 minutes I learned about proxy servers and was back on the BBC's website, browsing from my new home somewhere in Great Britain. However much to my dismay the videos aren't even shown as an option, even the site's layout is different, but why?
Why are websites different depending on what part of the world you are connecting from? (ignoring language differences)
And why do British people spell "programs" in such a funny way, "programmes"?
