    WTF Google?

    Sitting here doing research, visiting only known sites, when suddenly my next search yields...

    Unlikely, since I'm on a Mac. Ran ClamXav and everything looks clean. But Google won't let me search anymore -- apparently I've triggered some sort of auto-IP lockout.

    Thoughts?

    In the meantime, I'm off to try bing.

          My search was "AKG DMM 422" (search term was not in quotes)

          AKG is an audio equipment manufacturer. The DMM 4/2/2 is a new product of theirs.
          All very straightforward stuff. I've been to that site many times.

          However, now I'm denied for any and all search terms. Including "Google"...

          No big deal. Bing works fine.

              I'm mostly curious as to whether this has happened to anyone else.

              Google has been my homepage for quite awhile. They may lose that distinction, which I'm sure they would find devastating.

                Well, it let's me search "AKG DMM 422" as many times as I like, and click on any link. My only thought is that your computer has a virus that your scanner didn't pick up on. Download a second virus detection program (no idea what's good for a mac) and run another scan.

                          Took time out for dinner and dishes, came back, everything back to normal. No restart, no new window, just as I had left the comp. So I tried a sequence of my previous searches to see if it might trigger the "error" again.

                          Nope. Like it never happened. Except it did. Weird.

                            I get this a lot. Usually you can just try a few more times and it will work.

                              It went on for 20 minutes before I gave up and used Bing (which was equally effective for my purposes). Continued for at least an hour more, checking occasionally after I posted here.

                              Glad to hear someone else has experienced it. The Google logo on the error page was non-standard, so I was suspicious. Sorry, no screen-cap.
