Thanks for the update, Pekka. Running a business -- even the smallest business -- takes a tremendous amount of effort on any continent. It's a shame that your friends, acquaintances, and government in Finland don't have the mindset to support your efforts. But even if you had this support, most of the work in running a business is thankless. It's a good thing that running a business does have its compensations which make it worthwhile despite all of the BS.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Yeah, when I was running my own consulting company, I was spending more time selling then working. When I was offered a position for about the same amount (but with added benefits) I decided I liked working better then selling.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

So true... like I have this guy now selling services, seems like I'm spending most of my time with him. That's not a bad thing, but I've learned that there's no such thing as a sales team and then other teams, where you give them stuff and say sell. Sales people are an integral part, and you work your service with them. It's all about selling the service, so you have to have arguments for it, and thus you need to work with them and not just give them stuff and expect it to work because it often doesn't. Oh well... it's still OK.
It's not the end of the world that there's no support for the small business man. It's a blessing in disguise, as is this bad economic times. It means that you have to be good in order to succeed, because the usual BS just won't sell now. Personally, I think this is the best time to go about business.
Not all my friends are being obnoxious. Most of my good friends, friends I've had for years, are still my real friends. But some people just are showing that they aren't so good friends as I thought them to be. That's OK. Better to find out now than when you really need their help and realize it was not there to begin with.In da butt.
