"the Kill Bill actor found dead in the wardrobe of his Bangkok hotel room" For anyone familiar with hotel rooms in Southeast Asia, that quote sounds suspicious. Wardrobes are generally not very tall compared to Western males. Was he a short guy? I never had that impression.

I disagree. In fact, it good discussion perhaps we should have (in another thread maybe). Why is suicide considered dishonorable or bad? I don't think it necessarily has to be this way.

You could say it's selfish, but in many cases people who kill themselves have no family or friends. I plan on doing it when my family and friends die off (I don't actually have any friends atm). And even if they do have family, the family isn't doing a good job of seeing something is wrong. For the victim feels death is a release from the emotional pain of life. So something is wrong in the family life to begin with. I think it is selfish of the survivors to expect someone to live with considerable emotional pain.

But in this case, this guy had a long and storied life. There really is nothing left to accomplish. He did it for the best reasons ever (the other better reason being what japanese soldiers did during their wars)

If you're alone with no family or friends, I'll agree with you, but otherwise I can't. If you leave anyone behind that might blame themselves, it's cruel and selfish.

maybe so. But much of it is based off of religion. Based on the plane crash thread, I was link jumping from wiki about the failed egyptian flight into the Atlantic Ocean. In that case suicide was very bad as he took the lives of many others with him. But what's interesting about that is how suicide was not accepted by Egypt due to their culture. They ended up saying it was mechanical problems etc.

All I'm saying is to look at this from a logical perspective rather than a religious or cultural one. I see no reason to live on after my friends/family are gone and I lost the physical ability to take care of myself- or even worse- I'm in severe physical pain.
