  • The agricultural revolution - was it worth it?

The world's first agricultural revolution started about 10,000 years ago when men completed the domestication of a complete "food package" of plants and animals for farmers to use. Ironically, it seems that hunter gatherers were actually healthier and better nourished then your average farmer plus they suffered from fewer diseases. That said, even a malnourished farmer produced more calories per acre so the population of farmers skyrocketed kicking of the world's first urbanization. Please discuss.

It would all come down to numbers and how you would interpret "progress". A hunter gatherer population would tend to remain small and could likely do quite well without having to past stone age technology.
Even a fool is thought wise if he remains silent.
