Yes, but we have no idea how much of that is due to the natural operation of the market vs. how much is due to poor eduction or understanding of finances.

This post made me realize how different American and Russian poor are. I'm not comparing their degrees of poverty, but the problems they are facing. Our poor wash their laundry at home in bathtubs, ride cheap buses in search of cheaper food and never have to pay a processing fee to pay their utility bills.
