Traditionally, a federal office displays the picture of the president and the picture of the head of the department of agency. But one of the little-remarked-upon acts of unmitigated ego during the Bush years is that Dick Cheney's photo was hung along side Bush's and the appropriate agency head in federal buildings worldwide. Since January 20, however, sanity has returned, and it's only been Obama and Clinton on the walls at State -- no Biden. Today I spent the day at the Pentagon and, sure enough, it was Obama and Gates on the wall, but no Biden.
Yeah, there are a million bigger things to detest Cheney for, but none seems quite so pathetic as his apparent insistence that his snarling visage greet every federal worker and visitor worldwide.
