I'll keep the Canadian posters at panda.com and at Poly as well updated on my plans to move to Canada. But yes, why not make something like a nice meet-up while I'll be there?
I propose something like a peace talk on a round table between the Poly-posters and the ones which were beating it to TOS in the meanwhile at a bar while we indulge in drinks and watch Vintage panda movies later on at my place!

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Where are you staying? Is it your own apartment, or a basement apartment? Or are you staying with friends/family?

I'm just trying to feel out the nudity policy.

It will be my own one-room-appartment, small yet cozy. Besides that I don't need anymore space than that, I'll be living alone.
I don't have any relatives of which I know of in Canada, basically I will just see how the whole thing will be working out and then, dependant on the judgement of myself and the one of my bosses at that particular bakery, I will either stay or leave Canada after one trial year.
But I promise that I will make my best efforts to actually stay there.

A "studio" apartment (eg, one room only), or a 1-bedroom apartment (eg, 1 room + 1 bedroom)?

Do you know anyone out here or will you be moving here without any contacts?

I can take you to the best bars in town. They're on what's called Church St. The good news is, you don't need to spend lots of money and buy clothing to go.

The former, everything from the kitchen utilities to the bed where I'll be sleeping is contracted into one room. Like I said, I just don't need much more, I'm a very undemanding bloke.

I know already my future landlorn and my occupiers at work, the former I just spoke with him via telephone so far and I have no idea how he looks like and my supervisor is known to me by being in continuous contact with me since the first time I spoke with him over the phone, via e-mails, letters and of course some obligatory trivial telephone chattings.

My problem is that in the first time I won't be able to spend my money on anything that is not necessary, except to cover my basic needs. That means no fancy clothes and no superfluous partying or going to pricey, yet unaffordable over a longer stretch of time, bars.
Sorry, but after all I'm just a boring, work-obsessed German guy, which means that having fun will be just my second priority after my arrival in your land and it will probably stay like this until some time has passed and I know how much money I can waste for some luxury and when I have to be aware with my expenses I'll make.

But that's the beauty of it. At the Church St bars, all you need is a pair of underwear. If you're under 30, you won't even need to pay for drinks.

                It is optimal!

Please tell me that this isn't a trick and those bars aren't gay-only. With my smashing good looks, I'd be devoured there in no time!

If you are serious about this however, then I'll sure remember that.

I'm only partly serious. Yes, Church St is home to the gay bars. No, they're not gays-only (anyone is welcome, straight people go too). And yes, you can get lots of free drinks if you're under 30 and decent looking. And yes, you can save money by going shirtless. This would also increase the frequency of free drinks.

And no, people don't have sex there. Just don't go home with anyone.

Alinestra, I appreciate how hard you worked to find something nice to say about me.

Sounds to me like your "basic needs" is all you really need to cover.
