  • Firefox Add-ons

I have browsed through Firefox's add-ons and seen a few I would like to have.

However, when I went to add them a warning pops up saying that I should only download add-ons from authors I trust. The ones I have seen that I'm interested in, the authors are unknown and not verified.

Has anyone had problems with mal-software or similar problems with add-ons from unknown authors?

If it's on addons.mozilla.org or whatever, it's probably fine.

The bare-bones essentials are Adblock Plus and CustomizeGoogle.

Yeah, I'm looking at them only from mozilla's official website. I guess I was not sure why Mozilla would allow unknown authors to provide add-ons. Do they verify the legitimacy of these add-ons through other means without information about the authors?

If you say it's generally safe to download from mozilla's official website, I suppose I can go with that.
