  • Can you say ROAD TRIP!!

The National Pie Championships are in Florida this weekend so I'll be leaving Austin and driving to them! I have three pies entered. I just hope I'm up to the 18 hour drive then making pies then going to the contest We mapquested the trip any suggestions to get from Austin to Orlando? Points of reference along the way?
Welcome to earth, my name is Tia and I'll be your tour guide for this trip.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Seriously, Orlando is the easiest place in Florida to get to. Finding your way around Orlando and escaping with any money are different stories. Everything in Florida is designed to keep people from leaving with any money. And Orlando is a very, very confusing city to try and get around in (Florida has no urban planning).

And no, there are no landmarks. Florida is a flat swamp, with a few hills (which you'll be driving through).

In Orlando, I suggest visiting the Mall at Millenia, so you can see how you will never live.

Yes, I suppose if you are only driving from one tourist trap to another, it's very simple, get on I-4 and go north or south. I actually have quite a bit of experience with the city, as I've been there numerous times for things that don't have to do with the Mouse.

Wrong again. I will admit to visiting Universal Studios - but all the rest is you clutching at straws as usual.

The actual place is the Ramada Celebration Orlando but it says it's in Kissimee? That's a bit confusing. Funny you should put up that video Grandpa, the exact chocolate meringue pie Tommy Lee is eating is the very one I just made tonight and am taking to the contest.

Dear one you obviously haven't been around for the dark stupid side of the dragon queen. I'm surprised no one jumped on that remark besides me!

IIRC Kissimee is just outside Orlando.

I'm a pie lover, but I prefer meat pies to dessert pies.

Back in NZ, I used to buy steak and cheese, mince and cheese a lot. Then one fine day, a new flavour came out and it was Pizza flavoured. It was a normal bowl shaped pastry pie, with a cover on top, but inside was filled with what you would find on the top of a typical pizza, minus the pineapples and other weird stuff. It was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIE I have ever tasted.

I have missed it so much ever since I left NZ.

Hmm. I'm not sure American's have pies similar to downunder, I should post a picture, because down here (NZ, Aus), we'll buy 1 or 2 of these for lunch to ourselves, so it's not one of your family size pies.

                            be free
